Review: Into the Still Blue by Veronica Rossi

Image & description from goodreads.com
The race to the Still Blue has reached a stalemate. Aria and Perry are determined to find this last safe haven from the Aether storms before Sable and Hess do--and they are just as determined to stay together.

Within the confines of a cave they're using as a makeshift refuge, they struggle to reconcile their people, Dwellers and Outsiders, who are united only in their hatred of their desperate situation. Meanwhile, time is running out to rescue Cinder, who was abducted by Hess and Sable for his unique abilities. Then Roar arrives in a grief-stricken fury, endangering all with his need for revenge.

Out of options, Perry and Aria assemble an unlikely team for an impossible rescue mission. Cinder isn't just the key to unlocking the Still Blue and their only hope for survival--he's also their friend. And in a dying world, the bonds between people are what matter most.

In this final book in her earth-shattering Under the Never Sky trilogy, Veronica Rossi raises the stakes to their absolute limit and brings her epic love story to an unforgettable close.

My Thoughts:
I took my time with this one.  Knowing it was the last in the series, I wanted to savor every second with Perry & Aria.  This book was so action packed I had to stop & take a breather.  My heart was pounding out of my chest!  With the fate of so many resting on their shoulders, Aria & Perry have insurmountable obstacles to over come.  I ached as they made sacrifices that seemed unbearable.  This story is a testament to the human spirit.  When all fight, negotiations & even hope were lost, they didn't give up.  Just like the other two books in this series, the characters are amazing.  Even the villainous among them were spectacular.  I have only stumbled upon a few dystopian series that I loved and this one is my all time favorite!  Relationships take time and need to evolve which is exactly what Rossi does expertly.  The world she created just envelopes you.  While I am sad to see the series come to an end, I hope one day we'll get to read about Aria & Perry's future.  Maybe a spin off series will come along.
Jump into this series ASAP!  You will not be disappointed.

5 star Review: Crash into You by Katie McGarry

Image & description from goodreads.com
The girl with straight As, designer clothes and the perfect life-that's who people expect Rachel Young to be. So the private-school junior keeps secrets from her wealthy parents and overbearing brothers...and she's just added two more to the list. One involves racing strangers down dark country roads in her Mustang GT. The other? Seventeen-year-old Isaiah Walker-a guy she has no business even talking to. But when the foster kid with the tattoos and intense gray eyes comes to her rescue, she can't get him out of her mind.

Isaiah has secrets, too. About where he lives, and how he really feels about Rachel. The last thing he needs is to get tangled up with a rich girl who wants to slum it on the south side for kicks-no matter how angelic she might look.

But when their shared love of street racing puts both their lives in jeopardy, they have six weeks to come up with a way out. Six weeks to discover just how far they'll go to save each other.

My Thoughts:

I have thoroughly enjoyed every book in this series, but this one is my favorite so far.  I don't know if it's the stereo typical bad boy crush or what.  Isaiah is loyal almost to a fault.  He sticks it out through bad & worse.  He's like a tattooed knight in shining armor!  Rachel was exactly the person Isaiah needed to show him his true self worth and he was the person she needed to stand up for herself.  Both were victims of their circumstances.  Neither one let those circumstances limit them.  I loved watching the growth in both characters.  Katie McGarry always knows the perfect recipe for making her characters pragmatic and so easy to love.  Her books handle sensitive subjects with delicacy and realism. Of course I highly recommend them all!

For readers 15 & up.

Mild language & some sexual content.
